Thank You

Thank you for your support

I am delighted to tell you that Saturday's Salsa-on-the-Pier raised £915 for the Lee Wright Synergy Dance World Memorial Trust.

This was made possible by the fantastic support from all you salseros who attended and the many people who helped put the "word on the street".

The night was for Lee so I chose not to do a long list of thanks you then as I did not wish to distract you all from a great night of salsa dancing.

So, let me do that now. So many people donated their time & energy for free for which I am truly grateful.

So first up, thank you to the door keepers. These are the unsung heroes of events such as this. Keeping track of some many batches of people is hard work and they do this whilst not being able to join party which is going on behind them

(I hope I haven't missed someone!!!)

Big thanks to the Teachers who got the party started

* Joe & Claire for getting the beginners started on their salsa journey
* Katanga & Sue for improving the improvers

My thanks go to the DJ's who played such great music

* Magalys (DJ Chica Latina :) who started the evening with her special selection of classic, danceable music. We miss your music Magalys, we need to hear you play more often :(

* Anthony who bought his CD's along "just in case" and kept the party going so well. Following Palenke was a tough slot but he pulled it off so well.

* Katanga who kept the momentum going so well to into the small hours

And thanks go to all of the salsa teachers & promoters who gave Salsa-on-the-Pier such good publicity. In particular

* Tracie's Latin Club - cheers Tracie for getting such a good turn out from Southampton and beyond. I hope we can return the favour.

* Salsa Katanga - once again superb support from Katanga & Laura who helped so much in getting the Portsmouth crowd in (and thanks also to the rest of the Irish Club crew)

* Salsa Sly - thanks to Sylvester & Charlotte who really helped push the event and did a marathon stint on the door.

* Salsa Twist - thanks to Taz & Eva for promoting the event so well at their classes and on their travels.

* Rachel Mayo - for promoting SOTP in Brighton and for adding an extra twist by selling dance shoes on the night. But moreover, for giving Sylvie such caring support on the night.

* Candente Salsa - for getting so many Newbury salseros down south

* Miguel - Salsa Magic is back and Miguel was pushing the event hard for us in East Sussex

There are so many more who helped by leafleting far and wide. Thanks one and all.

And then there was the Show :) I can't thank enough the dancers for keeping us so well entertained (look out for the videos on Facebook :)

* Flavio de Brito's Tanguera Dance Company (Flavio, Alex, Jaime, Hannah, Colin, Ruth, Lisa & Sam). Lookout for their tango show "Una Ventana   Al Tango" which is coming to Portsmouth's New Theatre Royal on Sat 7th November. It is a great show (I have the photos to prove it)

* Vixenz - this was their first ever performance and they pulled it off brilliantly. Good luck in London on Friday foxes

And finally

* PALENKE *

They performed two excellent sets which were extremely danceable, enjoyable and created the perfect vibe for the night

best wishes to all of you who supported the event so well

kind regards
